Learn About Our Club
The mission and purpose of CCHA is to promote the pleasurable sport of raccoon hunting while preserving its heritage and culture simultaneously educating the community and youth hunters within licensed registry events.
No game is ever harvested during registry events nor is any game trapped or released in front of the dogs. No firearms, alcohol or disruptive behavior are allowed at our events. We turn our hounds loose at night in the forest with GPS tracking systems and tree wild game. We simply walk behind the dogs and shine the tree to evaluate our dogs performance and turn them loose again to shine another tree. Most competition hunts in the woods last from 1-2 hours. These hunts all have professional honor rules and great sportsmanship exceptions of the highest standards.
There are other activities as well during the day, such as bench shows, water races, and daytime field trials to test our hounds.
CCHA encourages a family atmosphere among professional competitors while challenging their best hounds.
It is great fun for everyone! Support a coonhunter near you!
